OPI Germany Collection (1/2 of it)

Hi Guys! Today I've got half of the OPI Germany collection to review for you! I've got My Very First Knockwurst, Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine!, Schnapps Out of It!, Every Month is Oktoberfest, Deutsch You Want Me Baby?, and German-icure by OPI.

First up is My Very First Knockwurst. MVFK is a pale pink nude crème. It applied extremely smoothly and only needed two coats. I have to say, one of the great things about nudes are that they make your nails look longer.

Next is Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine!  This color is a dark grey crème that applies nicely in two coats. It's a little lighter in real life.

This one is Schnapps Out of It! Gosh, this color is hard to describe. Its a mix between a pale orange and  tanish color with a slight silver shimmer. I don't even know if that describes it accurately. The one thing about this color is that it looks as if there's more of a silver shimmer in the bottle than on the nail, but it's still a pretty color. It was opaque enough in two coats.

Next up is Every Month is Oktoberfest. This color is super beautiful, probably my favorite of the collection. Its a deep black jelly with a beautiful purplish/reddish shimmer. It's hard to capture the real beauty of this color. This is one coat over black.

This color is German-icure by OPI. German-icure by OPI is very much like the color above. It's a deep black jelly with a reddish orange shimmer. This color is also very hard to capture. This is one coat over black.

To be honest, in the bottle, these two look a lot alike. The only difference was that German-icure is more of an orangish shimmer compared to Oktoberfest's purple shimmer. They are both really beautiful, but I feel you shouldn't have colors this close on the same collection.

German-icure is on the pointer and ring and Oktoberfest is on the middle and pinky.

Last, but not least, is Deutsch You Want Me Baby? This is a shimmery orange red color that works better over a color than by itself. This is one coat over Milani Juicy Glo. Is it just me or do reds make your skin look paler?

All in all, this is a beautiful collection. All the colors applied like a dream and were just plain beautiful. Although I wish there had been some sort of glitter in it, but that's just me.

That's all for today!

Indie Swatch...Tuesday?

Hi guys! Today I've got a few Indie brands to swatch for you today! After not buying a single bottle in October I kind of splurged on some polishes I've been eying for a while.

First up is Oh Splat! by KBShimmer, my first ever KBShimmer and may I say, it's a great one! It's rainbow glitter hexes in a white milky base.

This color is beautiful! Although I wasn't quite sure if the glitter is supposed to be shining or covered by some of the milkiness. It's kind of half and half. This is one coat -- with a little glitter placement -- over white. It applied really nicely and is soooo pretty!
You can buy this here ----> http://kbshimmer.com/ShoppingNailPolish.html

Next up is Mint Condition from the Hungry Asian. Mint Condition is red, blue, purple, and black glitter in a mint base. It is BEAUTIFUL!!!! I put one coat--again with a little placement-- over Revlon Minted.

And how cute is the bottle???? It's a heart! And you can't see it, but there's a little jewel on the top!
You can buy this and all her other amazing polishes here-------------------------------------------------------------------> http://www.etsy.com/shop/TheHungryAsian

Now I've got one by Ninja Polish/Nail Venturous, Girly Floam! I've been waiting for a girly floam for forever! Girly floam is super fine pink and purple glitter, every girl's dream! This is three coats over nothing.

I'm going to be honest, I wish there was a blue or something to add a little variety, because while it's really pretty, it's kind of boring. The two colors blend into each other too much, but besides that it's really pretty! You can purchase other Ninja Polish products here ---> http://ninjapolish.com/home.php

And last, but certainly not least, is Serum No. 5 - Day Glow. Day Glow is a pastel yellow that dries with a sort of semi-matte texture, probably because it GLOWS IN THE DARK!! Ya, the glow is so intense, its amazing. This is two coats and about 30 seconds of direct sunlight.

Now in the dark

Look at that! Look at that glow! Wow!

That's it for today!

Julep November Box Review

Hi guys! Today I've got some reviews for you! I just got my November Julep box about a week into November and I am going to review the polishes for you! Here's a picture of how the box looked.

It came with three one-step remover pads Hailee, Nora, and a matte top coat. First of all, the one step remover pads weren't exactly one step. It took off only four nails and it was a little harder than just one swipe.

First thing's first, Nora. Nora is a dark silver matte suede. It applied pretty nicely, but there were some random scratches that I'm assuming were from the brush, so I had to use two coats.

After wearing Nora, I realized that it looked kind of like China Glaze Stone Cold. So I decided to compare them.

As you can tell, Stone Cold is a little darker than Nora, but they're pretty similar.

Next is Hailee. Hailee is a dark green matte suede.

It had the exact same consistency as Nora, and I had two coats also. I thought that this kind of looked like China Glaze Agro. So I put a top coat over Hailee and compared them.

Hailee had a bit of silver flaked shimmer in it and Agro was just a pure green shimmer,

The last part of the box is the Julep Matte Top Coat. I also have the Essie Matte About You top coat so, can you guess? I compared them! I put both of them over China Glaze Smoke and Ashes because I thought it was the closest to a suede color.

I don't know if you can tell, but Essie is a little bit more matte than Julep, but most muted out the green shimmer in the polish.

All in all, the colors are very pretty, but I wish I had gotten colors that weren't similar to ones I already have. Oh well!

That's all for today!

Galaxy Drip Nails

Hi guys! Wednesday! It's Friday eve eve! And how about that election? I honestly don't know who I would've voted for if I would have voted. Don't tell anybody, but I'm not old enough to vote. SHHHH!! Haha!

Anyways, today I've got some nails that I've seen everywhere but have never tried. Galaxy drip! I think they could've been nicer, but they're still really pretty! I was inspired by http://nailsbycoewless.tumblr.com/ 's galaxy drip nails.

I just did normal galaxy nails with green and blue then took white and made the outline of the drips.

It was super easy and I'm sure there are lots of tutorials out there.

That's all for today!

Pretty And Polished Giveaway!

Hi guys! So one of the many great blogs I follow is having a giveaway because the lovely owner of Pretty and Polished sent her an extra set of the Holiday set. So I thought you guys might want to know about it! Here's the link ---> http://www.coloresdecarol.com/2012/11/pretty-and-polished-christmas-2012.html?m=0

Dried Flower Mani

Hi guys! How was your weekend? Mine was great, thanks for asking! Today I've got a new kind of manicure. Dried flowers! I got a few little bottles off of Nailite.com, but I'm pretty sure they'd be much less expensive on eBay.

I used turquoise ones over China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise. In retrospect, I probably shouldn't have put turquoise over turquoise. Oh well, lesson learned! Anyway, I kind of winged it and just tried to apply them myself without any tutorials or anything. I probably could've done better. I just applied a topcoat to the bottom the the flower, stuck it onto my nail, and just put another layer of topcoat over it. I'm not a hundred percent sure that's how you do it, so if you want to check I know Cutepolish on youtube has a tutorial for it.

Anyway, after I did that I took a medium sized dotting tool, Essie Playdate, and China Glaze Pink Voltage and made alternating colored dots around the flowers. I didn't put a topcoat over them so they popped out and looked pretty cool.

So that's it for today! Have a good Monday!

Dollish Polish- Expecto Patronum

Hi guys! Sorry I haven't been on in a while, I had a bazillion tests, and then I got sick, and then it was suddenly Halloween! So I've been busy.

First off, I would just like to say that I am having a clearance sale in my etsy shop. 75% off all items so that I can get some new stuff in. The code is CLEARANCE2012 and the link is http://www.etsy.com/shop/SmartyLacquer

Now onto the good stuff. Today I will be reviewing Dollish Polish- Expecto Patronum. This polish is super difficult to acquire, but I managed to snag a bottle off of eBay. EP is turquoise various sized hexes in a white milky base.

This is just one coat over white. Expecto Patronum applies suuper smoothly and there's easily enough glitter to cover the nail in one dip. Although white isn't my color, this polish is to die for. I can't even explain how pretty it is. Not to mention, it's Harry Potter related. ^~^

May have another post later,

Zoe
