Julep- Sofia

Hello! Today I've just a swatch for you. Now I know what you're thinking. A swatch? Bleh, that's boring! Well, not today! I've got a very special color in store for you today! What is it, you might be thinking. Well, if you didn't already read the header. It's Julep Sofia! And..... it glows in the dark! Took me a while to get to the cool part, huh. Anyway onto the swatching!

Sofia took four coats over white to be opaque enough, but I'm not going to lie. It's so thin, that it slided around a bit and ended up drying with some parts a little darker than others. But beautiful none the less! Sofia is a green, really thin, jelly with a sparkle glitter that's blue at some angles. Here's a picture in the sun(sorry for the glare.)

You can see the blue sparkles more in the bottle. And in case you didn't notice, I chopped off my nails quite a bit!

Next is a picture in the shade.

And now, the picture you've all been waiting for! The glow in the dark part!

It's near impossible to get a non blurry picture in the dark. But look at how bright it glows! This picture doesn't even show the full glow! Forgot to mention that little dark bubble there. That kind of pisses me off. Only four coats and it looks as if I've used a lot more then I did. Julep is a pretty expensive brand, about twice as much as OPI, and it actually has less polish to a bottle then OPI! Julep polishes are pretty normal compared to OPI or China Glaze, but still super expensive.

I wouldn't normally buy them but I'm a Julep Maven and get a box of goodies per month for just $20 and this was an add-on for only $5. If you would like to become a maven, you can go to this link ------> http://www.julep.com/rewardsref/index/refer/id/50172/ and enter the code when you sign up. Also, and I really hope this code still works, but if you enter the code PENNY at checkout you can get your introduction box for one cent!

That's all for today!

Feeling Blue

Not in the best mood today. -_- Oh well, don't want to bore you! But got some nails to match my mood. I used Julep Gunta from the Trina Turk collection as the base and Essie- Stroke of Brilliance for the glitter. I basically just applied Gunta, which applied extremely well, and then just painted the glitter starting from the cuticle down. Here's a picture in the shade, where you could see the color of the glitter better.

And here's a picture in the sun.

Here's the link to Julep- http://www.julep.com/
and you can get Stroke of Brilliance at any place you can get Essie, CVS, Ulta, it's part of the Luxeffects Collection.

That's it for now!

Lynnderella- Nosegay and Gotta Love Brains

Hello! Today I've got two beautiful polishes to show you! If you don't already know, Lynnderella is a polish maker who recently moved to ebay from llarowe. Her polishes are beautiful, but quite expensive. But I've managed to grab a few for a decent price, and today I'm going to review two of them.

First up is Nosegay, is multisized purple and pink squares and hexes in a milky lavender base with a slight indigo shimmer. It applies super smoothly. I've put about two coats over Essie To By or Not To Buy.

Next up is Gotta Love Brains. It's silver holographic bars, large and small silver hexes, rose and purple squares, blue hexes, and charcoal hexes and squares in a milky grey pase that has a slight purple shimmer. It applies very smoothly, but the large hexes curled a little bit. Despite that, the polish is super beautiful! I put one coat over Sally Hansen Wet Cement.

That's all for today! Have a good afternoon!

Up Up And Away

Hello, I know I haven't been posting lately... haven't been feeling too great. But I'm here now, and I'm definitely going to try to post more.

Today I've got some Superman nails for ya! I really am happy with the the face, not so much with the thumb, but oh well!

Now, as you know I make my own nail polish and I got this pigment so I could make glow in the dark polish. In the end the pigment was way to dense and sunk to the bottom and it wasn't completely dissolved so it had a bit of a weird texture to it... but when you could get it on your nails, it glowed amazingly! So I added it to the kryptonite!

It's a lot more purple in real life, but look at that glow!

Have a good evening!

African Tribal Nails

Hello! Happy Thursday! The only reason I like Thursdays are because it's the day before Friday and the weekend! And also because Glee is on tonight! I didn't even realize the next season was out! And when I saw it on my recordings I was like, "WHAAAAATTT??" You know, in my head.

Now, last season, all the new shows were on Tuesday, so of course I sit on the couch and watch TV for an hour and wait for it to come on, when i could have been doing much more productive things. After a while I decide to check what channel it was on and I searched "glee" and when I saw when the episodes were I realized it didn't come on until Thursday. I was pissed.

So there you go! A little useless information about my personal life! Now onto the nails.

I did these nails back in July but I didn't post them, so why not now? These were for an African nail art contest on Instagram, which I was a finalist in thank you very much. I found some African Tribal print online and I designed my nails after it. I used some of my Grandma's acrylic paint for these, it just so happened that she had the perfect colors. How 'bout that?

Another funny story! Ha, you thought I was done telling you about my boring personal life didn't you! While I was wearing these my sister and I went to Sephora. It was my first time there, but the polishes were crazy expensive so I ended up just picking up one and it was still $16! At the checkout we were waiting to pay and somehow nails came up, (because it totally wouldn't when you're buying polish) and my sister says, "Look at my sister's nails!" I showed the lady and she was like, "Wow, you should do a tutorial on Youtube or something and then companies like Sephora would want to buy your designs for nail wraps or stuff like that."

I mean, trust me, I've tried Youtube, but it takes an hour or two just to film a ten minute video! Not to mention I don't have a proper video camera... you know, now that I've reread it, this story really wasn't that funny! Thank you if you actually read through the whole thing thank you! And I'm sorry.

Ok, thats it.
Have a good afternoon/ night!

Fuzzy Nails- tutorial included!

Hello! Sorry I haven't been on in a while. I've been pretty busy with school and other stuff and stuff. Anyway...

A few weeks ago I was at Michael's for some paint and brushes. I also decided to go looking for some micro beads. After minutes of tedious search, I found the "scrapbooking" area (aka everything Martha Stewart.) When I finally got there, wouldn't you believe it, they were sold out. There was only a 32 pack mixed with glitter and other junk, and a giant bottle of one color that I wasn't in love with. I searched everywhere I could, thinking that someone might have been lazy and put it somewhere else or had hidden it for the next time they were here (you know what I mean.) But alas, my search lead me to nothing. Zip. Zero. Squat. Goose Eggs.

I decided to go back to the scrapbooking section for one last look. Nothing, except for some flocking powder. I'd seen one of my IG gals do fuzzy nails with this stuff, so I thought I might as well get it.

The next night I attempted the fuzzy nails I'd seen, and may I say, It was glorious! Here's how they turned out.
Essie Turquoise and Caicos with Martha Stewart Calypso Flocking Powder.

Cool right! You wouldn't believe how soft they are! Figures I had to work in the garden the next day and get them all dirty. *Sigh*

Continuing on, I loved these nails so much, I thought I'd make a tutorial for all my lovely readers.

First paint your nail the same color as the powder your using.

Then over a small bowl quickly pour the powder over your nail before it dries. Get a generous amount on.

After that just brush off the excess powder. after you've completed all your nails, take the powder in the bowl and pour as much as you can back into the bottle.

Voila! Fuzzy Nails! Such a super cute look in 3 easy steps! Hope you enjoyed!
